Dr. Bartholemew Schultz
Dr. Schultz received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire. He later completed his graduate studies in 1998 at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. While attending school, Dr. Schultz was elected as class president. He continues his education regularly today and has taken classes from Dr. Pete Dawson and Dr. Frank Spear.
Our dentist is an active member of several dental associations, including the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Minnesota Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Schultz received his Mastership award in the Academy of General Dentistry and he is currently the president of the Minnesota Academy of General Dentistry.
When Dr. Schultz was growing up in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, he was actively involved in his boy scout troupe and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors, weightlifting, and scuba diving, in which he has achieved the level of Scuba Dive Master. He is married to Meghan, an elementary school teacher with the Minneapolis public schools.

The dental team at Smiles of Distinction truly makes an effort to get to know all our patients. They go out of their way to get to know their patients as if they were a part of their family. It is our primary goal to make all our patients feel comfortable. We value the time we have with each and every one of our patients and in turn this is the reason our patients keep returning to our dental practice for care. Jill has been a part of the dental community for over 20 years. She attended Dakota County Technical College where she graduated with honors with her Dental Assistanting degree in 1995. She started out as an administrative assistant, then dental assistant, and finally an office manager.
Jill became a part of Smiles of Distinction in 2013. She believes in spending as much time as possible with each patient to ensure they understand their options available for care. Every patient has different needs and desires when it comes to their dental health, and Jill makes sure that their questions and concerns are all answered before moving forward with the desired treatment. She enjoys educating patients on treatment options and allowing them to make the decisions regarding their dental health which fits their lifestyle best. Jill loves getting to know all our patients on a personal basis; she looks forward to having conversations and interactions with every patient and feels as though they are an extended family member.
Jill and her husband, Greg, live in Lakeville and have twin daughters; Katelyn & Alissa, and son, Nicholas. The family wouldn’t be complete without their 2 great danes, Domino and Kobe. When Jill isn’t at the office, she loves fishing, boating and hanging out with family and friends at the cabin. Jill especially enjoys going to Caribou with her daughters and watching her son play baseball and football. Go Lakeville North!
Karlye—Registered Dental Hygienist
Karlye joined Smiles of Distinction in May of 2014. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Minnesota in 2007, and has practiced in the private practice scene since then. Karlye’s highest priorities are putting our patients at ease and helping them understand their dental health and how she can improve it. Karlye enjoys her co-workers and getting to know all the patients at Smiles of Distinction.
When not at Smiles of Distinction Karlye enjoys cooking, going to the movies, watching football-especially the Denver Broncos, and spending time with friends and family. Her true loves are her husband Mike and their daughter Evelyn, and their 13 year old dog, Odin!
Kassie—Dental Assistant, LCA
Kassie received her Associate of Applied Science in dental assisting from Century College in May of 2012. Kassie began her career at Smiles of Distinction shortly after gradution. She strives to make our patients feel comfortable and at home when they are here.
Kassie lives in Farmington with her husband Eric, son Finn, and pup Addie. When not at Smiles of Distinction, Kassie enjoys spending time with her family. Kassie particularily loves summer where she relaxes on their family boat on the St Croix River.
Sarah is our Administrative Assistant at Smiles of Distinction. She received her dental assisting degree in 1995 and actively practiced for 12 years before taking time off to raise her children.
While Sarah still maintains her LDA license, she has come to enjoy her administrative duties at Smiles of Distinction. Sarah enjoys getting to know all our patients and loves feeling a part of the family here at Smiles of Distinction.
When Sarah is not at Smiles of Distinction she is busy raising three children with her husband, Tom. She enjoys being outdoors, crafting and repurposing furniture. As a three year breast cancer survivor Sarah is working on her own non-profit for mothers in MN with breast cancer to help them on their journey
